Novak Djokovic walked away with a cool cheque for $1.4 million after destroying Nikolay Davydenko in the final of the ATP Tennis Masters Cup.
Djokovic, the world number three, had been suffering from a lack of pre-tournament form yet he defied his critics with a Master-ful performance.
Russia's number one, and semi-final conqueror of Andy Murray, Davydenko, had no answers as he fell in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5.
"I'm very, very happy," said Djokovic, "I would definitely put it on a level with the Grand Slams"
With the season at a close, Djokovic can now reflect on what has been a strange year.
